It isn’t often the world stops!

During the first Covid lockdown, I was visiting our studio in Greece and was unable to return home to Los Angeles or to my family in London.

At first, I viewed this with despair, but this quickly gave way as the resilient Greek spirit became a poster child in how to handle a pandemic!

It turned out to be the right place at the right time.

With so much time on my hands, and with the world in lockdown, it was a blessing to sit back and embrace the Greek way of life.

An enthralling mixture of vibrant cities, sun-drenched islands, picturesque villages, diverse landscape, transparent waters, timeless traditions, and the Mediterranean diet all made the perfect setting to engage with the friendly locals. Coupled with the upswing in the Greek economy and the active interest from the international investment community, along with our recent successes in the architectural design field, it struck me as paramount that a new platform be created to better serve the international clientele seeking an A-Z service in all arenas.

EIG was born. The premise of Expats in Greece is to provide a cohesive service in guiding our clients through the process of relocation, retirement, and investment in Greece, including all relevant services such as design and architectural solutions, real estate, Golden Visa, etc.

Why Greece you may ask? Like any country or city that has had its woes, the phoenix always rises. And at this point in time, Greece is heralded as the new Florida of Europe and beyond.

There are myriad factors that promote this idea. And sitting comfortably on the southernmost tip of Europe, Greece is not just an attractive EU destination but also a gateway to the Middle East, Northern Africa and the Balkans.

A new forward-thinking administration and the introduction of several new non-stop flights between the U.S. and Athens are set to further strengthen the economic upswing, giving excellent opportunities for relocation, retirement, and investment in both residential and commercial property. In fact, there have never been so many non-stop flights from the U.S. to Greece. Delta Air Lines and United Airlines are now flying new routes to Athens from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C..

Established international brands, such as the Four Seasons, are increasingly finding their way into the Greek market. In fact, by the end of 2022, the Four Seasons will have two locations in Greece.
